A note to future students

Dear future students

At the first Organisational Behaviour class of every new academic year, an international student often asks me, “I'm studying engineering. Why do I need Organisational Behaviour?”

“To understand why others behave as they do, why we respond the way we do, and how to make better choices and management decisions.”

In short, Organisational Behaviour helps you become a more clear-minded person within an organisation.

I've been teaching for around five years, and I'm among the youngest international lecturers in the engineering school. I share many of my students' interests: karaoke, manga and games. Just don't try to play games secretly on your phone in my class. You might discover a very familiar game in one of my slides.

And please don't be afraid to speak because your English carries an accent or a dialect. If the right words don't come, try your first language. I can respond in Chinese, English, French and Spanish; my Japanese and Korean are a little less fluent!

I hope your journey brings you to Coventry — and perhaps into one of my classrooms.
